My earliest memories of Alan were way back (I was about 10) when he was playing in a kids team with my brother Roger, Coached by his dad Art.  If it wasn't for this early exposure to Baseball I would never have followed on to play Softball for many years including a season alongside Alan when he guested for London Meteors in a few mixed slowpitch tournaments in Chiswick.  

Such a natural athlete, phenominal player and all round, nice guy. Alan was a very charismatic chap, always smiling and he had a real joy for life. 

He shall be missed by so many, all over the world and I am very sad to learn of his passing.
